Our Natural Democracy

Natural Law #6:
The Citizens Right to Live Public Debates
The Principle:
It is a fundamental requirement of human consciousness to observe the authentic character and competence of a person before hiring them.
Citizens have an absolute right to witness political candidates live, unscripted, and undisciplined by their media handlers, ensuring they are truly knowledgeable and not merely faking it.
The vast majority of voters only ever see highly managed photographs, carefully edited soundbites, and scripted television ads. This is a false reality. To understand who a politician truly is, we must see them live.
Do they speak clearly?
How deeply do they understand complex national issues?
What is their true character under pressure?
Are they arrogant?
Or do they hide behind slick evasions when a direct question is asked?

Voters require this transparent election tool to witness the truth before they vote.
A healthy democracy cannot allow politicians to hide from accountability. Yet, under the current broken system, leaders are entirely free to duck out of public scrutiny.

-
The 2019 Precedent: During the 2019 Canadian Federal Election, the sitting Prime Minister simply refused to attend the first major national televised leaders' debate. His opponents were left debating an empty podium.
-
-
The Tactic: When a politician refuses to debate, it is a deliberate, tactical choice to avoid defending a controversial record or facing tough questions. This is an act of supreme disrespect to the voter. Under our framework, hiding from a debate will no longer be an option.

The Three-Debate Mandate
Tax-paying citizens have busy lives, families to raise, and jobs to maintain. Catching a single scheduled debate can be difficult.
-
Better Odds for the Citizen Voter Employer:
-
By legally mandating a minimum of three separate live debates, the odds are vastly improved that every citizen will have the opportunity to watch at least one or two.
-
-
A Deeper Assessment:
-
It takes more than one viewing to get the true measure of a person's character. A politician can fake a single performance or have one lucky night. Three debates ensure that the mask comes off, and true competence or incompetence is revealed.

Organization, Independence, and Discipline
To ensure these debates are completely unbiased and untainted, the entire operational structure must be stripped away from the corporate media apparatus.
1.Corporate Media Exclusion:
No commercial media executives, political corporate donors, or partisan operatives will be involved in running or formatting the debates.
2.Independent Leadership:
The debate MCs and moderators must be pulled from non-partisan, highly educated academic positions (such as professors or teachers) who are trained in objective moderation and strict adherence to logic.
3.Geographic Fairness:
Each of the three debates must take place in a different Canadian province, ensuring the entire nation is represented.
4.Public Facilities & Transparency:
Canada's public broadcasting infrastructure—which has already been bought and paid for by the voters—will provide the hosting facilities. The entire process must be completely transparent and open to live recording by various independent citizens and alternative outlets, ensuring the footage cannot be selectively edited.
5.The Discipline Enforcer:
The rules of the debate will be simple, clear, and unyielding. The moderators will have the absolute power to cut microphones if a candidate evades a question or uses lazy, segregating slurs. The Voter Ethics Committee will establish strict penalties—including immediate ballot disqualification—for any politician who refuses to participate.
